Things to know about Byron
Byron W. Smith is Managing Director at Mountain Group Partners (MGP), a venture capital firm focused on early-stage investing in the areas of Human Health, AgTech, and B2B Tech. Before MGP, Byron had a distinguished career in the development of wireless telecommunications and broadband internet. He has taught entrepreneurship at Vanderbilt’s Owen School of Management as an adjunct faculty member. He began his marketing career in brand management at Procter & Gamble and Pepsico.
Byron received an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business with a focus on strategic planning and economics. He earned a BS from Middle Tennessee State University with a double major in economics and political science.
Byron serves on the boards of the Trinity Forum in D.C., Montgomery Bell Academy in Nashville, and several privately held, venture-backed companies.
