In Memoriam: Gerald J. Russello (1971-2021)
Earlier this week, Gerald J. Russello (1971-2021) passed away at the age of 50.
Gerald was a longtime friend of ISI. As an undergraduate at Georgetown University, Gerald was part of the campus ISI Society where he studied with ISI scholars George Carey and Fr. James V. Schall. After graduating, he continued to contribute to ISI, writing for Modern Age and the Intercollegiate Review.
As a campus speaker he introduced ISI students to the best of conservative thought and to thinkers such as Christopher Dawson, Orestes Brownson, and Russell Kirk. His contributions to ISI as a student and alumnus reflected his lifelong dedication to giving the next generation access to an education in the permanent things.
ISI’s national network of staff, students, faculty, and benefactors is deeply grateful for Gerald’s commitment to liberty and liberal learning, and ISI extends its heartfelt condolences to Gerald’s family and friends. May he rest in peace.
Requiescat in pace.
