Launch Your Career in Journalism

Many prominent journalists got their start in the media through paid internships and fellowships sponsored by the Intercollegiate Studies Institute.

You can, too.

How It Works

We place students who are seriously considering a journalism career in positions that offer writing opportunities at some of the nation’s leading publications.

Our yearlong fellowships provide recent graduates who are looking to begin their careers in media with a full year of professional journalism experience—paid.

Our paid summer internships provide current college students with the opportunity to explore a media career for ten weeks.

Application Process

You will be asked to provide some basic contact information, as well as a résumé, cover letter, transcript, references, writing samples, and brief responses to short questions.

Applications for 2024 CN Fellowships are open! The deadline for both internship and fellowship applications is February 1, 2024. Once you have applied, ISI will review your application and get back to you ASAP after the deadline passes.
